     This week I learnt about how to collect the data into my corpus and the method to English language for teaching methodology such as Terminologies and collocation ,local grammar , style and content knowledge.  I learnt about how diffidence between Thai corpus and English corpus that make me know the all of the words the native speaker used, and tell me where to find all of the examples of that word. Concordances can help me look for words in different contexts, and suggest other words that may be related to the word I have learned.


 Finally , I learn about false friends word in corpus and translation such as
 air (n) แอร air-conditioner / air hostess
Check, please หรือ Bill, please เช็คบิลล to ask for the bill / check in a restaurant
cheer (v) เชียร support
contact (n) คอนแทค contact lens
diet (n) ไดเอ็ท to be on a diet   Etc.

         This day , I learnt about  introduction to corpus linguistics : concordances.  Next, I learnt  antconc by download free program from http://www.laurenceanthony.net/software.html . Then, I learn about how to build  corpus y first step is  copy the information, article or new  from many website  into notepad. Next step is open file into antconc that make me can check how manny word that I find in notepad.

 Moreover I learn about regular article " Using blogs in the foreign language classroom:Encouraging Learner Independence and teacher ask me  7 importance question in this article is 
     1.What is the purpose of this project?

  •  This project aimed at motivating students to take advantage of authentic environment outside the classroom in order to practice language skill and communicate with others.
2.How was the data collected?
  • Data were collected from learners through questionnaires and interviews conducted at the end of the term.
3.What were the results of pre-project questionnaire?
  • No students had a blog prior to the class,and only two learner had any knowledge of blogs.  The learners responded that they wanted t communicate, make friend, develop writing skills, and learn about classmates 
4.What were the results of post-project Questionnaire?
  • The learners spent 30 minutes/week working on the project.Three learner spent between 10-15 minutes,and two spent more than one hour blogging each week.
5.What are the advantages of blog?
  •  The students enjoyed using blogs in the classroom.Eight learners agree that they enjoyed interacting.Seven learners cited that they thought their writing skill and improved from participating in the project.Five learners responded that the project assiste them in learning and using  new vocabulary.Two learners practice in technology. Two learners thinking in English. One learner practice in grammar skill and  last learner practice typing.     
6.What are the disadvantages of blog?
  • 1. picture software was too difficult to understand and use
  • 2.The assignment was too time - consuming and or should have been done in class
  • 3. The website was only in English and it was difficult to understand 
  • 4. Free- writing is too difficult 
  • 5. Teacher should give fewer topics and allow more free writing 
  • 6. Teacher should assign more assignments to be done on the blog 
  • 7. There should be a listening option where students can talk and share music.     
7.What are the suggestions to improve the project?
  • Blogging is a writing activity and therefore it is not  surprising that learners perceivved that the project helped their writing however is that every learner responded that the reason they took the course was to improve their speaking and comunication.

This day, I learn about Corpus Linguistics by Teacher Kriangkrai Vathanalaoha from Srinakharinwirot University. He make me know that a corpus is a collection of word and can used and apply for teaching language.The history of corpus began 19 century (AD.1897)
The first corpus wrote about child diaries. There are 7 types of corpora
 1.Special Corpus  
 2.General Corpus
 3.Mutilingual Corpus

 4.Parallel Corpus 
 5.Learner Corpus
 6.Historical or Diachronic Corpus
 7.Monitor Corpus 

 After  I learn about Processes in corpus linguistic there are concordances , collocations , distribution information, keywords and dispersion plots. Then, I learn the limitation of corpus linguistics such as

  •      It won't tell us if something is possible in a language
  •      Any generralisations we make form corpus data can only be deductions 
  •      corpora give us evidence but not information  or explanations 
  •     corpora give us language out of context
